I think we are all agreed that Wizard 2009 was wicked-even Hurricane Bill couldn’t stop everyone having a brilliant time!

Many thanks to all the folk who made the festival possible, from litter pickers to stage builders, our sponsors and everyone else in between.

A huge thumbs up to all the Wizard crew, family, friends and festival followers who have helped us organise another great event for year three.

Most of all we would like to thank the fans who came to support the festival - we make it happen, it's you who make it magic!

Don’t forget that there will be prizes for the best fancy dress on Friday of the festival.  There will be a caravan made into a  mini cinema in the wee wizards arena-check the wee wizards programme on arrival for screenings!

The last Wizard Festival showcase before the main event is almost upon us... Get yourself down to the Lemon Tree Aberdeen this Saturday 15th for a FREE night of entertainment with Right Hand Left, Stanley, The Locals and Cast of the Capital.

5th August 2009 - Wee Wizards

Hiphop school, MC Masterclasses, Street Drummers, Fancy Dress Friday and Family camping area all announced today. Check out 'Wee Wizards' in the information section for further details.

1st August 2009 - Showcase night at Lemon Tree

Wizard Festival showcase night at the Lemon Tree tonight Saturday 1st August from 8pm with Headlight, The Wildcards, Indian Red Lopez & Velvet Audio.

24th July 2009 - More acts announced

Even more class acts announced as the Virginmarys, Hip Parade and Bruce Watson( Big Country) and son, Jamie, are added to the bill. Loads more performers have been  confirmed for the Wizard weekend.  See the Line-up section for more details.

23rd July 2009

Why not join us at one of the Wizard Festival showcase events which begin on Friday July 24,  Velvet Audio and Stanley will appear at Mambos in Peterhead from 7pm onwards.  The Peterhead Scottish week marquee will see acoustic performances from Wizard showcase finalists The Little Kicks on Saturday afternoon July 25. Indian Red Lopez and Cast of the Capital are also performing at Mambos on Saturday evening to round off the weekend of showcase events.

26th June 2009

Wizard wheels out more class acts with the announcement of Oasis favourites Twisted Wheel. Also appearing are Luva Anna and The Ray Summers.

17th June 2009 - Snafu stage acts

Headlining the Snafu Stage on Friday Aug 28 are The Japanese Popstars, Also appearing on Saturday Aug 29 will be the Streetlife DJ’s.

Other acts confirmed to perform include Subclub’s Harri, Snafu residents Giles Walker, Lunik and Funky Transport as well as a Cuban Brothers DJ set alongside Mr Green and Greg Gibb.

4th June 2009

Scottish Indie-idols, Idlewild, will be cranking it up on Wizard’s main stage on Friday August 28 and will be joining The Cuban Brothers, Proud Mary, Vic Galloway & King Voodoo.

20th May 2009 - Artist demo applications

A big thank you to all artists who sent in demo applications, the selection process has now begun and those chosen to perform at the festival will be contacted over the coming weeks.

11th May 2009 - Trader applications now closed

The closing date for traders to apply for Wizard 09 has now passed and all pitches have been allocated. Thank you very much to all those who applied.

5th May 2009 - Red Hot Chilli Pipers

A touch of Scottish spice has been added to the bill as we confirm a spot for The Red Hot Chilli Pipers.

10th April 2009 - Friday headliner announced!

It’s going to be a beautiful day at Wizard on Friday August 28th  because The Levellers will be headlining The Voodoo stage.  They will be supported by  2 Tone Ska-Masters The Beat.  Making the journey North to play Wizard’s main stage on Saturday will be Glastonbury favourites The Travelling band, for their first ever gig in the north-east of Scotland.

14th March 2009 - Saturday headliner announced!

Wizard Festival is proud to announce that it has secured a duo of magic acts to head up Saturday night’s main stage. 

The only one’s we know who are good enough to headline Wizard’s main stage, the Voodoo stage, on Saturday August 29 are those sorcerers of sound, The Charlatans. 

Pre-headline act and Saturday support slot to The Charlatans goes to the baby-daddy’s of punk-pop, The Buzzcocks.
